Going with the Flo

My friend sent me a message to say she had received a flyer in class with my face on it. And it's definitely not every day I can say that. I'll be speaking at my Alma Mater, the University of Illinois, on preparing for the PR industry. As a university that does not offer a public relations major, I was challenged at Illinois to gain experience on campus through my own means. Without knowing much, I did what I do best – I got involved. I joined clubs, contacted professors (outside of classes in which I was enrolled) for direction and reached out to past internship supervisors for advice. Looking back I was getting real world PR experience and I didn’t even realize it. I'm looking forward to sharing my insights with future PR pros.
