Honor Flight Chicago was founded to recognize our Veterans – most specifically our WWII Veterans – with a day of honor, remembrance and celebration from a proud and grateful nation.

This organization provides fully-funded day trips to Washington, D.C. for a veteran and guest where they take in all the memorials. Tonight I’ll be a part of the welcome back committee at Midway Airport, thanking World War II veterans for their service and honoring their commitment to our country. When asking past supporters where to greet the group, I was told I’ll know by all the people holding flags, posters and boxes of tissue. The waiting list to participate in an honor flight is 1,000+ people long and the trips are funded completely by donations. You can find more information and photos on the Facebook page.
